Clean gas burners increase the efficiency of the gas stove and also cooks food very fast as compared to the dirty ones.
Today you will learn how to clean the burner of a gas stove at home without spending money on it.
The dirty one clogs the holes of the burner and diminish the flow of flames. Due to that orange and a yellow colour flame comes out of it which darkens our utensils bottom.
To avoid that we should clean stove burners frequently.
How often you should clean the gas burners?
Generally, it depends on how often it gets dirty. When you see that the flames are not coming from all holes, the flame colour changed to yellow or orange. It indicates that the burners need to be clean. It’s time to deep clean the gas burners.
Otherwise, once in a month cleaning is sufficient.
Whenever you make baingan ka bharta then the holes of the burner get cloaked. Or whenever you directly roast any vegetable or anything which spills liquid then deep cleaning is required.

Methods to Clean Gas Stove Burner
How to clean gas stove burners with vinegar
- Put burner in the bowl.
- Fill the vinegar till the burner get soaked in it.
- Add 1 tablespoon baking soda in it and leave it for 6-7 hours.
- Now you will see it is approx 80% clean.
- Take a old toothbrush and rub it with it for full cleaning.
- Rinse it in clean water.
- Take a cloth and dry it with it and use it on the gas stove. (Watch below video for instructions)

How to Clean Gas Burner with Baking Soda
- Put burner in the bowl.
- Fill the water till the burner get soaked in it.
- Add 1 tablespoon baking soda in it and wait for 30-40 minutes.
- Take a old toothbrush and rub it with it for full cleaning.
- Rinse it in clean water.
- Take a cloth and dry it with it and use it
How to Clean Gas Burner with Harpic
You must be thinking can we clean the gas burner with harpic?
Yes, you can.
If you do not want to use baking soda and vinegar, then this method will work best for you.
- Put gas burners in the plastic bowl or any waste plastic food container.
- Add little water and put harpic on top of it.
- Now you will see, it is cleaning.
- After 15-20 minutes rub it with waste toothbrush.
- Wash it with clean water.
- Dry it with cloth and gas stove burner looks like new.
If you use any other brand like domex then you can use that also. That will work also.
Clean Gas Burner with Lemon
If you do not have vinegar, baking soda, harpic, then you can use lemon juice for cleaning the gas burner.
- Put gas burners in the plastic bowl or any waste plastic food container.
- Add hot water until burners are completely covered in it.
- Squeeze the lemon juice on it. And let it soak for 30-60 minutes.
- Scrub it with waste brush and use utensil cleaning soap if required.
- Rinse with clean water and dry it with cloth.

I have mentioned five methods of cleaning gas burner at home without spending money on it. All the methods works. I have tested all the methods.
You should select the method according to your choice. I would suggest using the harpic method or the lemon one. They will cost you very little and gives result in few minutes. Another method is a little expensive as compare to these two.
