Moong Dal Halwa Recipe

Moong dal halwa is a classic Indian sweet dish recipe. Today I will teach you how to make moong dal halwa recipe step by step.
Moong dal halwa is made with moong lentils(dal), sugar, desi ghee and cardamom and a few dry fruits.
Halwa is made very often in Indian homes. We make aate ka halwa mostly. But in the winters we mostly make gajar ka halwa (carrato halwa). But you can also try suji halwa, badam halwa.

Tip
Always use a non-stick pan or kadai for making it otherwise it will stick to the bottom and you will face difficulty in making this.

Ingredients
- 100 gm moong dal
- 100 gm desi ghee
- 100 gm ghee
- 250 ml milk
- elachi seeds crushed
- pistachios pista
- almonds badam
- cashew kaju
Instructions
- roughly blend the moong dal in the blender. (Do not use any water in it)
- In a hot pan add 80 gm desi ghee and melt it.
- In the hot ghee add a paste of dal and mix it well.
- On lower-medium gas flame stirs it well for the next 15-20 minutes.
- Once it is golden brown, add 100-gram sugar and mix it well. Stir it well for the next 6-7 minutes.
- Now add milk to it and continuously stir it for the next 7-8 minutes.
- Add elaichi seeds, and dry fruits and mix them well.
- In the next 5-7 minutes it will become thick add the rest of the desi ghee and mix it.
- Serve your moong dal halwa.
